Try Table Curling, Snowball Toss, Distance Jumping, Cube Building, and more.  Prizes will be awarded. Crazy 8's Math ClubS.T.E.M. Crazy 8’s Math Night
When: Monday, February 7
Time: 4:30 – 5:15 P.M.
Grades: K – 2
This is a free math program for student who are interested in learning additional math concepts outside the classroom in a fun way.  This program is limited to 10 students who not only enjoy math, but are able to work in small groups with Ms. Arlene. Winter Olympics at the Library

Time: 4:00 – 5:30
Ages:  3 – 8 years
Come to the Library, play some challenging games, and win a prize or two. There will be games like: Tic Tac Toe Snowball Toss, Snow Slope Puzzle, Olympic Ring Toss, Stacking Snowman, Jumping, Table Top Curling, and more. Registration is required on Google Forms on our website.  If you need help signing up, please call the library at 973-838-3262.

  1.  Build a snowblock tower:  Race between another child and see how tall you can make your tower.
  2. Assemble a snow slope puzzle
  3. Olympic ring toss  toss your rings on to a snowman’s sticks
  4. Line jumping:  jump as far as you can across the lines
  5. Table top curling; slide the object into the cup at the end of the table
  6. Tick tack toe snowball toss
  7. Stacking snowman; stack the spools to form a snowman

 

 

 

S.T.E.M.  Ceramic Surprise

Workshop 2: Building Bee Abodes to Conserve Native Pollinators with Kelly Rypkema, Mercer County Park Commission | 11:30am-12:00pm

Description: If you like pumpkins, cherries, or blueberries, then thank a native bee! Invite these helpful pollinators to your backyard by building a bee house in this workshop using materials easily found in the home.

Supply List:

  • Sheets of paper
  • Tape
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Paper towel tube or paper milk carton

Paper roller coasters

 

Materials needed for the roller coaster activity

  • Paper roller coaster template printed on cardstock (preferably colored).
    • You can use regular paper, but the roller coasters will not be as sturdy.
    • Only the first two pages of the template are required for the lesson. You can print the third page if you want to let your students add extra pieces to their track.
  • Extra paper or cardstock
  • Piece of corrugated cardboard to use as a base, at least 12″x12″
  • Scissors
  • Clear tape
  • Marble
