What is JerseyCat?
JerseyCat is the name of the statewide Interlibrary Loan system provided by the New Jersey State Library. If we cannot provide material to you first through M.A.I.N, we can try obtaining materials through Jersey Cat, a statewide loan network of over 700 New Jersey public and college libraries. You may place requests for titles that will be sent to the Butler Library.
Who can use it?
Any cardholder of the Butler Public Library can use JerseyCat to search New Jersey libraries for holdings on books or other library materials.
What happens after I place my request on JerseyCat online?
If your library card is in good standing, your request will be forwarded to state libraries that own the material through our Inter-Library Loan Department. When the material arrives to the Butler Library, you will get a phone call when the material is ready for pick up. Time is needed for processing of the materials from both the sending and receiving Libraries.
How will I know the standing of my request?
You can track your requests through the JerseyCat link. Click on the “My Account” tab near the top left of the screen and login using your Butler Library card number and password.
