Face masks and six-foot distancing will be required, and to manage capacity and minimize contact at the entrance, admission will be by timed reservation only, and payment by credit card only. Galleries, elevators, the museum’s shop and its restrooms will have capacity limits, and the Natural Science Resource Room will remain closed. The following exhibitions will be open:
• “Dissonance,” which features 59 works by 35 artists that, according to the museum’s website, “encompass qualities of ‘discord, tension, instability, and conflict,’ thought to ‘aptly fit the moment in which we find ourselves (during the COVID-19 crisis), as individuals, as institutions, as a nation, as a culture.’ ”
• “W. Carl Burger: Mastery of the Medium,” featuring paintings, drawings and collages from the museum’s permanent collection and covering Burger’s entire career.
• “Tiny Intricacies: A Cache of Kinetic Art.”
• “Eva Zeisel: A Century of Designing Elegance.” Works in ceramic, glass and wood.
• “The Ties that Bind: How Race Relations Shaped Morris County and New Jersey, 1688-2018.
• “Special Installation: Monarch Sanctuary.”
• “Special Installation: The Mechanical Horse,” by Adrian Landon. (see below)
