Cell Phone Usage and Policy

-Patrons are asked to silence their cell phones upon entering the Butler Library by turning the
“ring sound to vibrate” so as not to disturb any other patrons.

-If a patron must use a cell phone, please take the call outside of the Library
-If a patron deems it necessary to use a cell phone in the Library, please keep your voices at a reasonable
level and attempt to move away from others so they are not disturbed.

 

Apply for a Library Card  & Become a Member of the  Butler Public Library

-Butler residents must apply for a library card in person.
-Residents 18 years and older must show proof of address. (i.e. Driver’s License, Utility Bill)
-Minors (under 18 years of age) must have their registration card signed by a parent/caretaker. Proof of address for the parent/caretaker
signing the application is required.  (i.e. driver’s license, utility bill)
-Materials can be checked out by anyone with a current library card from the Butler Public Library.
-There is a replacement fee of $5.00 for lost or damaged cards.
-Borrowing privileges will be suspended for patrons with fees exceeding $10.00 until the fine is paid.
-Open Borrowing: Patrons from participating libraries outside of MAIN may sign up for borrowing privileges at the Butler Library. Home libraries will be
called in order to verify the new patron is in good standing.
               -Your Butler Public Library card can be used in any Main Library Alliance of Morris County as well as the over 150 participating libraries
in the NJ State Library system (www.njstatelib.org) in northern New Jersey.
