Teddy Bear Reading

 

Storyline OnlineStoryline Online: Reading aloud to children has been shown to improve reading, writing and communication skills, logical thinking and concentration, and general academic aptitude, as well as inspire a lifelong love of reading. Storyline Online is available 24 hours a day for children, parents, caregivers and educators worldwide. Each book includes supplemental curriculum developed by a credentialed elementary educator, aiming to strengthen comprehension and verbal and written skills for English-language learners.

 

These programs are not meeting at this time.

Toddler Time meets at 10:15 A.M. on Thursdays for 2 -3 year olds who are able to sit through a short story and work with their caregivers to complete a small craft.

All parents are required to remain in the Library while the programs are running.  This is not a drop in program due to space and craft counts. Registration is required.


Story Time meets on Tuesday at 10:15 A.M. or Thursday at 11:30 A.M. for 3 – 5 year olds and offers a thirty minute session with a story and a fun activity.

Early Childhood Literacy Resources

Sign-up with Ms. Lisa, Ms. Jennifer, or Ms. Arlene for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program.
This is a nationwide Library program which promotes literacy/reading before kindergarten. Build vocabulary and language skills while bonding with your little one and taking part in this fun challenge. Small prizes are rewarded for every 100 books read.


ABC Mouse: Free within the Library
An early childhood learning website for children ages 2-7. Children learn reading, math, science, social studies, art, and music through interactive activities. ABC Mouse can only be used within the Library.
